Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and FileSathi (“we”, “us”) covering your use of the service. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.
1. The service
FileSathi lets you upload documents, share them as tracked links, and see analytics about how recipients engage with them — opens, time spent per page, scroll depth, engagement scoring, and, on paid plans, session replay of the document viewer.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 16 and provide accurate registration details.
- You are responsible for your credentials and for everything done through your account. Enable two-factor authentication if your workspace holds sensitive material.
- Tell us promptly at contact@filesathi.com if you suspect unauthorised access.
- Workspace owners are responsible for the members they invite and for the access they grant them.
3. Plans, billing and renewals
- We offer a free plan and paid plans with different storage, team-seat and replay-retention limits. Current prices and limits are those published on our pricing page at the time you subscribe.
- Paid plans are billed in advance and renew automatically each period until cancelled.
- Payments are handled by our payment processor. We never receive or store your card details.
- You can cancel at any time from Settings. Cancellation stops the next renewal; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Refunds are covered by our Refund & Cancellation Policy: in short, a full refund within 7 days of your first payment, and we will always put right a payment that was our mistake. This clause used to read simply “non-refundable”, which was neither what we do in practice nor something a payment processor will approve.
- We may change prices. Existing subscribers get at least 30 days' notice before a change affects them, and may cancel instead.
- Lifetime or promotional licences are governed by the terms published with that offer, including any limits it sets. They do not entitle you to features outside the tier they grant.
- Exceeding your plan's storage or seat limit may prevent new uploads or invitations until you free space or upgrade.
4. Your content
Documents you upload remain yours. We claim no ownership. You grant us only the licence needed to run the service — to store, process, convert and transmit your files so they can be shared, viewed and analysed as you direct.
You are responsible for what you upload, and you confirm you have the right to upload it and to share it with the people you send it to.
5. Tracking recipients — your responsibility
Read this section even if you skip the rest. FileSathi gives you detailed analytics about people who did not sign up for anything. The law in most places has something to say about that, and the obligation sits with you, not with us.
When you share a tracked link, you are the data controller for what gets collected. You agree that:
- You have a lawful basis to collect analytics about your recipients, and you will give them any notice or obtain any consent your jurisdiction requires.
- You will honour your recipients' rights over the data — including access and deletion requests — and we will assist you where the data is in our systems.
- You will not use FileSathi to track people covertly where doing so is unlawful, nor to monitor individuals for any purpose unrelated to the document you shared.
- You will take extra care with special-category data — health, financial, biometric, or anything similarly sensitive — and with recipients who are minors.
Our Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is collected, so you can describe it accurately to the people you share with.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use FileSathi to:
- Upload or share anything unlawful, infringing, malicious, or that you have no right to distribute.
- Distribute malware, run phishing, or impersonate another person or organisation.
- Send bulk unsolicited messages, or use tracked links as a vehicle for spam.
- Probe, scan, overload or attempt to bypass the security, access controls or plan limits of the service.
- Reverse-engineer or resell the service, or resell access to it, without our written agreement.
- Circumvent link protections — passwords, email gates or expiry — on documents shared with you.
We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches this section. Where a breach is serious or unlawful we may act immediately and without notice.
7. Availability and support
We work to keep FileSathi available and reliable, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Maintenance, updates and outages happen, and features may change as the product develops. We will not remove a material feature you rely on without notice. Support is by email at contact@filesathi.com; paid plans get priority.
8. Your data, and getting it back
You can export your data and delete your account from Settings at any time. Deleting an account permanently removes your documents, clients, folders, workspaces and all associated tracking data, including session replays. It cannot be undone. If you own a workspace with other members in it, transfer ownership before deleting.
If we terminate your account for a breach of these terms, we will give you a reasonable opportunity to export your content first, unless the law prevents us.
9. Intellectual property
The FileSathi software, brand and design are ours and remain so. These terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service while your account is in good standing — nothing more.
10. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
Analytics are indicative, not forensic. Opens, timings and locations are inferred from network and browser signals that can be affected by email scanners, corporate proxies, VPNs, privacy tools and offline reading. Do not treat FileSathi data as proof that a specific person read a specific page, and do not rely on it as evidence of delivery, receipt or agreement.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business opportunities — including any deal you believe was lost through reliance on our analytics.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from the content you upload, your use of the service, your breach of these terms, or your failure to meet your obligations to recipients under section 5.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For material changes we will give notice by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use FileSathi afterwards means you accept the new terms; if you do not, stop using the service and cancel.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction], and the courts of [jurisdiction] have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, without affecting any consumer rights you have where you live.
