Refund & Cancellation Policy
Short version: there is a free plan, so you never have to pay to find out whether FileSathi works for you. If you do pay and it turns out not to be right, tell us within 7 days of that first payment and we will refund it in full.
Want a refund, or just want to stop being billed? Email contact@filesathi.com from the address on the account. We reply within 2 business days.
1. Try it without paying
FileSathi has a free plan that does not expire and does not ask for a card. Upload a document, share a tracked link and read the analytics before you decide to pay for anything. We would rather you did that than buy a plan and ask for it back.
2. Refunds on a first purchase
- 7 days, full refund, no reasons required. If the first payment you make on an account was within the last 7 days, write to us and we will refund it in full.
- This applies to monthly and annual plans alike, and applies once per account.
- Your paid features stop when the refund is issued and the account returns to the free plan. Your documents, links and analytics are not deleted.
3. Renewals
Paid plans renew automatically so the service does not stop working without warning. A renewal is not a new first purchase, so the 7-day window above does not restart — but we do not want to keep money for a year nobody meant to buy:
- If an annual renewal was charged in the last 7 days and you have not used the account since it renewed, ask us and we will refund it.
- Monthly renewals are not normally refunded, because cancelling before the next renewal is always available to you and takes one click.
- We email a receipt for every payment. If a renewal ever surprises you, that is a problem with how we told you, so write to us and we will sort it out.
4. Cancelling
- Cancel any time from Settings → Billing. No email, no retention call.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal. It is not a refund and it does not cut your access short — you keep the plan you paid for until the end of the period, then move to the free plan.
- Deleting your account is separate from cancelling and is permanent. Cancel first if you only wanted the billing to stop.
5. When we do not refund
- Periods that have already been used, beyond the windows in sections 2 and 3.
- Partial or unused time in a period you have already paid for — cancelling stops the next charge rather than refunding the current one.
- Accounts we have suspended or closed for breaching the Terms of Service.
- Downgrades mid-period. The lower price applies from your next renewal, not immediately.
None of this limits rights you have under consumer law where you live. If the law where you are gives you a better right than this policy does, the law wins.
6. Lifetime and promotional licences
Licence codes — including lifetime deals bought through a marketplace — are covered by the terms published with that offer, and by the refund window of the marketplace that sold them, which is usually longer than ours. Refunds for those are requested from the marketplace, not from us. When a code is refunded there, we withdraw the entitlement it granted and the account returns to whatever the remaining codes or plan entitle it to.
7. Something went wrong at our end
Sections 2 to 5 are about changing your mind. They are not the limit of what we will do if FileSathi was billed incorrectly, charged twice, or was unusable because of a fault on our side. Tell us what happened and we will make it right, including outside these windows.
8. How refunds are paid
- Refunds go back to the original payment method. We cannot send one anywhere else — we never see or hold your card details, our payment processor does.
- We approve or decline within 2 business days of your request. Once approved, the money typically reaches you within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer.
- Charges are taken in Indian Rupees (INR). Any other currency shown on the pricing page is an indicative conversion for reference. Refunds are issued in INR for the amount charged, so the figure that lands may differ slightly after your bank's conversion and any fees it applies — that difference is your bank's, not a partial refund.
9. Before you file a chargeback
Please email us first. A chargeback takes weeks, freezes the account while the bank decides, and is a far slower route to your money than asking us — which, within the windows above, we simply agree to.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The version that applies to a payment is the one published on the day that payment was taken, so a change can never take away a refund you were already entitled to. The date at the top tells you when this version was published.
